A combined Kenya and Tanzania safari offers the ultimate East African experience. Kenya’s Masai Mara and Tanzania’s Serengeti provide the best wildlife viewing, including big cats, elephants, and migratory herds. The trip covers diverse landscapes, from Rift Valley plains and Kilimanjaro views to the Ngorongoro Crater and baobab-studded Tarangire. Travelers also gain richer cultural experiences with Maasai and local communities. Logistically, the parks are conveniently connected, creating a seamless, efficient safari. Overall, it maximizes wildlife, scenery, and cultural exposure in a single journey.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure as you prepare for your safari adventure.

After breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park, a journey of about four to five hours. Arrive in time for lunch, then head out for an afternoon game drive. The park is famous for its large elephant herds and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Spend the day exploring Amboseli on game drives. The open plains provide excellent opportunities to see predators and grazers, while birdlife is abundant around the swamps. Return to your lodge or camp in the evening.

Drive north through Nairobi to reach Lake Naivasha. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride on the lake to spot hippos and water birds. You may also see giraffes and antelopes along the lakeshore.

Continue to Lake Nakuru, a compact park that offers rich wildlife viewing. In the afternoon, go on a game drive in search of rhinos, lions, and the occasional leopard. Flamingos and pelicans are often found along the shores of the lake.

Depart early for the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most famous reserve. Arrive for lunch at your lodge or tented camp before heading out for an afternoon game drive. The Mara is home to abundant wildlife including elephants, lions, buffalo, and cheetahs.

Spend the day exploring the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. During migration season (July to October), you will witness the spectacular movement of wildebeest and zebras. An optional visit to a Maasai village can also be arranged.

Cross the border at Isebania and continue into the Serengeti. Arrive in the northern Serengeti in time for an afternoon game drive. This area is known for predators and, depending on the season, migration herds.

Spend a full day on safari in the Serengeti. The vast plains are home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and giraffes. Seasonal movements of wildebeest and zebras make this park one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world.

After a morning game drive, travel toward Ngorongoro. Descend into the crater for an afternoon game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to a dense concentration of wildlife including black rhinos.

Leave the crater rim and drive to Tarangire National Park. Known for its baobab trees and large elephant herds, Tarangire also supports lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a game drive before dinner at your lodge or camp.

After a morning drive in Tarangire, transfer to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your beach resort where you can relax by the Indian Ocean.

In the morning, visit a spice plantation to learn about Zanzibar’s history as the Spice Island. you will also explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its winding alleys, historical sites, and lively markets. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dhow sunset cruise before returning to your hotel.

Spend your final morning relaxing at the beach or doing some last-minute shopping. Later, transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight.
