Your safari begins in Tarangire National Park, one of northern Tanzania’s hidden gems. Known for its vast elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, Tarangire offers diverse landscapes of river valleys, swamps, and open savannah. Wildlife concentrates along the Tarangire River during the dry season, attracting lion, leopard, giraffe, zebra, and wildebeest.

Birdwatchers will enjoy sightings of more than 400 species, including the colorful lilac-breasted roller. After a day of game drives, you overnight at Osupuko Lodge, which overlooks the park and offers sunset views across the plains.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

Today’s drive takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large hippo pools, and an alkaline lake that attracts thousands of flamingos during the season. The dense groundwater forest provides shade and a habitat for monkeys, elephants, and an array of birdlife.

In the afternoon, you settle into Farm of Dreams Lodge in Karatu. The lodge’s location offers easy access to both Manyara and Ngorongoro, with spacious gardens and panoramic views.

Days 4–6: Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti needs no introduction. Over the next three days, you will explore the endless plains that host one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife on Earth. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest and zebra move in search of fresh grazing. Even outside migration months, Serengeti delivers world-class safari experiences with resident lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and countless antelope.

Each day includes early morning and afternoon game drives, with time to relax at Nyikani Camp. This tented camp combines comfort with a true bush atmosphere, offering campfire evenings under the African sky. Your guide will plan routes to maximize sightings, whether near the Seronera Valley, known for predators, or along the Grumeti and Mara areas if migration herds are present.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to nearly 30,000 animals living within its natural enclosure. Here you may spot the endangered black rhinoceros, as well as large populations of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, and hippo. Predators such as lions and hyenas are often seen close to the action.

A picnic lunch is enjoyed at the hippo pool before ascending the crater wall. Later in the day, you return to River Trees Country Inn, where you can relax before your Zanzibar extension.

Day 8-12: Zanzibar Island

A short flight takes you from Arusha to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you transfer to Fruit and Juice Resort, a beachside property ideal for relaxation after safari. Spend your first evening walking along the shoreline, enjoying the warm Indian Ocean breeze, and sampling freshly prepared seafood dishes.

Your four full days in Zanzibar allow for both leisure and cultural exploration. You may choose to spend your mornings on the white sandy beaches and your afternoons exploring the island’s rich heritage.

Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers winding alleys, spice markets, and centuries-old Swahili architecture. A guided tour reveals highlights such as the Sultan’s Palace and the Old Fort. A spice plantation tour introduces you to cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and other crops that shaped Zanzibar’s history. For adventure, book a snorkeling or diving excursion to Mnemba Atoll or Chumbe Island, where vibrant coral reefs host tropical fish and sea turtles.

In the evenings, enjoy a traditional Swahili dinner at your resort, or join a sunset dhow cruise along the coast.

After breakfast, enjoy your final morning on the beach. Depending on your flight time, you may fit in a last swim or visit a local craft market for souvenirs. You will then transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your international departure.
